Over 100 parents, students and educators attended the PTSA screening of Race to Nowhere on Tuesday, October 25, a film that explores the impact of society’s achievement culture on our school-aged children.

After watching the film, Principal Kibbey Crumbley shared her observations and engaged the audience in their reactions. Attendees provided feedback during the post-film discussion, submitted comments on index cards, and completed an electronic survey. The survey results identified student stress and a lack of student down time as the highest areas of concern. Most attendees expressed an interest in participating in a book club to read and discuss Beyond Measure.

If you would like to join, please order your copy of the book now and read it over the holidays. The book club will meet in mid-January, prior to the screening of the Beyond Measure companion film on February 23. Please stay tuned for more information on the book club and hold the date for the Beyond Measure film screening! If you have any questions, contact Tamu Lewis, PTSA Family Engagement Chair.
